The US Historical Climatology Network

Definition: The United States Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) is a National Climatic Data Center subsidiary responsible for the collection and analysis of several meteorological factors. The USHCN uses 1221 weather stations within the 48 contiguous United States to compile monthly averaged maximum, minimum, and mean temperature and total monthly precipitation. The records span back to as early as 1900.
