AC/DC Rocks the Weather
Friday November 14, 2008
There are lots of songs about weather. In fact, I actually have a list of the top 10 weather songs in each decade from the 1960s to today. But to talk about a legendary band such as AC/DC in my own blog...well, I never thought I'd have a chance. That's why I was extremely excited to read a blog post from the Weather Guys at USAtoday.com about the new AC/DC album Black Ice. With several weather-related titles on the album, I wonder if songs such as Stormy May Day will become huge hits. Will the album be as good as Thunderstruck? I guess I need to run out and buy the album!

The best weather lyric from AC/DC has to be the opening lines from ‘Riff Raff’. I’ve just started an environment degree with the Open Universtiy and already decided that I’m going to use this in the opening of my dissertation:
“You see it on the television every day
Hear it on the radio
It ain’t humid but it sure is hot
Down in Mexico
Boss man tryin’ to tell me
Beginnin’ of the end
Sayin’ it’ll bend me
Too late my friend”
Do you think Bon Scott knew what was coming back in the early 70’s?
Gee, I don’t know. I love the music and know all the classic songs by heart, but never really followed the band and the members.
