While air pollutants come in many forms and from a multitude of sources, smog is a secondary pollutant directly related to the sun. In the formation of smog, the photolysis or breakdown of chemicals by sunlight, can create serious health risks for people all over the world. Young children, the elderly, those that work outdoors, or those in heavily populated cities are the most susceptible to this type of pollution. Heart attacks, congestion, lung infections, and even death can result. Because of the dangers, I have written a full article on this dangerous form of air pollution.
