You May Live Inland, But the Ocean Affects Your Weather

Imagine this...You live by the ocean. You feel the gentle ocean breezes coming up from the water...Your toes are in the sand...You feel relaxed, cool, refreshed...No worries...You stare out into the deep blue sea looking for an approaching drought...

Hold it! Did I say drought?

Believe it or not, droughts often start in the ocean. Although we do not have to worry right now about conditions similar to the Dust Bowl of the Great Plains in the 1930's, scientists have found a link between droughts, the jet stream, and oceans all around the world.
