Your List of the Best Local Weather Websites

By , About.com Guide

While weather at About.com covers some basic and advanced weather topics, the site is not intended to give readers the daily weather. I began to put together a list of some of your best weather websites you reference in addition to this site. Many of the sites are very local in nature. While they do not appeal to the broader audience, many people want to know how to find weather where they live.

Central Connecticut Weather

Find the weather in central Connecticut. According to the site owners, "Berlin, Connecticut, the home of "The Yankee Peddler", is located at the geographic center of the state." The station is updated every 5 to 10 minutes with the latest weather forecasts. The site is simple, yet eloquent in its display. If you live in the area and like following the weather, this is a site for you.

Chicago Area Weather with Rick Di Maio

Meteorological consultant Rick Di Maio brings you Chicago area weather reports with style. This local weather website adds some great educational background to Chicago weather. With TV weather forecasting experience and a well organized personal website, Rick Di Maio delivers educational presentations and forecasts for the Chicago metropolitan area.

Great stories for those in Alabama. Many of the stories cover local events, but also major weather events elsewhere. The site is written by ABC 33/40 meteorologist James Spann. He does a video every single day and goes into detail in explaining WHY the weather is going to happen.
