Excessive Heat Watch

Definition: An Excessive Heat Watch is issued by the National Weather Service when the heat index reaches levels where humans and animals may be at rick for heat sicknesses such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Forecasters will usually issue a watch several days in advance of very hot and humid weather.
