Hurry! Registration Ends Soon!

By Rachelle Oblack, About.com

  • Are you confused by climate change?
  • Are you interested in understanding how climate change information is collected and assembled?
  • Have you ever wanted to take a student to an education conference but often find that conferences are restricted to teachers only?

If you answered yes to any of these, then read on! NASA is offering teachers and museum staff the opportunity to attend a climate change conference through the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Education Office. The title of the conference is NASA's Contribution to Earth System Science.

Conference Details

The conference is set for March 3rd and 4th, 2007 and will include mission highlights over the last several years. With increasing focus on the importance of understanding climate change, educators should be aware of new technology and information available from sources such as NASA. Earth's ecosystem, which includes the atmosphere, oceans, land, and ice will be presented as integrated and interdependent topics.

Location and Registration

While the conference is not completely free, and transportation is your responsibility, the $40 (for offsetting operational costs) is a wise investment for the value of the knowledge you will gain. The location for the conference is in Pasadena, California. The registration deadline is Friday, February 23. Click here for the climate change conference registration address and form.
