While poetry is definitely not the focus of the weather site, one interesting poem by Helen Hunt Jackson has appeared in early elementary school books for years. Coincidentally, many people may remember memorizing this particular poem in their early days of schooling. As thermometers dip towards winter temperatures, the greenery of summer will indeed become blazing shades of red, orange, and yellow as leaves gradually lose their grasp on summer. While the poem may not be of the most superior quality, the idea that October is a favorite time of year for weather is a wonderful thought.
