What Is a Microburst?

When it comes to a downpour, you may not be thinking of exactly why it is raining. You just need your umbrella! With 5% of all thunderstorms producing a microburst, there is considerable reason to understand this type of weather event. There are actually different types of microbursts or downdrafts that can cause some pretty heavy damage. While some microbursts do not produce rain, others cause serious problem for airplane pilots.
