Ike: The Almost-a-Cane

Wednesday September 3, 2008
Ike is a tropical storm brewing up in the south central Atlantic Ocean with strong winds of nearly 70 mph and a low central pressure of 991 millibars. Ike is the 9th named storm for the 2008 hurricane season and looks to take aim at the Bahamas and Hispaniola (the island shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

UPDATE: Tropical storm Ike turned into a full hurricane today. It is now Hurricane Ike.
