Florida Flooding After Tropical Storm Fay: A Photo Gallery
Sunday August 24, 2008
President Bush declared 4 Florida counties as major disaster zones after the flooding from Tropical Storm Fay. While more counties may be added, so far Brevard, Monroe, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties are eligible for the federal aid. 12 deaths have been reported from the flooding and economic losses could be staggering once they are tallied. Some areas in Georgia had 26 inches of rain in 6 days while Florida residents were seeing as much as 5 to 10 inches a day. I have arranged a gallery of photos of Tropical Storm Fay and the Florida flooding. If you have any of your own images, please feel free to contact me at weather.guide@about.com for posting in the gallery.
