The Three Threats of Wildfires

There are multiple atmospheric conditions perfect for creating fire weather. While modern techniques have improved fire weather predictions and the forecasting of wildfires, there are still hundreds of thousands of acres of land lost every year. Last week, North Carolina's wildfires were reported to be lightning-induced fires. Currently, California is in the spotlight. Over the first weekend of summer, record-breaking lightning activity in the state triggered hundreds of wildfires. But lightning isn't all it takes to start a wildfire.
